Labour Services

Birth Doula services include:

• two or more prenatal visits where I would get to know you and your family, understand your wishes for your birth experience and perhaps help you form a birth plan.
• supportive presence and energy at your birth in whatever setting you've decided on and for as long as you want me there.
• experience with and knowledge of the natural progress of birth.
• physical support during labour, which could include amateur massage or reflexology (I am not a registered massage therapist, but I've got good hands!) as well as anything else that might be comforting to you.
• support for partner's experience at birth, and support for your partnership.
• support for initial breastfeeding and bonding.
• one or more postpartum visits to discuss your birth and admire your baby!

My fee is a flat rate for births, and it varies on a sliding scale, so please contact me to get more information.

Postpartum Services

Services available during the postpartum period are very diverse and include, but are not limited to:

• breastfeeding support
• general help around the house (i.e. laundry, dishes, light housekeeping, small meal preparation)
• care for older children
• help with accessing resources
• cesarian support and support for parents of multiples (twins, triplets, etc.)
• *nights*
• parenting support

Postpartum Doulas are there to support you. Different Doulas are able to do different things. I'm flexible on the sort of tasks I'm willing to do.

The fees for postpartum doulas are usually an hourly rate. The average going rate in the lower mainland is around $12-$18/hour. There are usually minimums for the amount of time I would spend with you at any one time. Again, my fees and hours vary, so please call me or email me to get more information.

Gift Certificates

Getting a doula for a friend has got to be one of the best Baby Shower presents there is.

Gift Certificates are available for both labour and postpartum services, and almost any budget can be accommodated.
